• Launching Meet a Mentor 3

    Spring/Summer 2017

  • About

School of Logical Progression (SLP) provides young adults with the skills, experience, knowledge and connections needed to build a career within the creative industries through a pre-employment mentoring programme called Meet a Mentor.

Our aim is to address the mismatch between the skills young people are leaving college and university with and those creative-sector employers are looking for, as well as the lack of diversity within the creative industries.

We are passionate about social mobility and are convinced that there are many talented young people who are not getting the opportunities and connections they deserve. Providing them with these is a business imperative that will reinvigorate creative industries, ensuring that corporate cultures and creative output are more representative of society.

Each session brings together the cohort of mentors and mentees and includes talks, panel discussions and workshops (CV surgeries, pitching & interview skills, panel discussions etc) as well as inspirational talks from interesting people with stories to tell about their jobs or their journey to their jobs, plus allocated time for the mentor and mentee to spend getting to know each other and looking at specific issues relevant to each individual.

Our pilot programme ran from April 2016 until July 2016 and the second programme ran from November 2016 to March 2017. We are now launching our 3rd programme, which will run from April 2017 - July 2017.

Fran Plowright is the Director and Co-Founder of SLP.
